The successful candidate will hold a current 565 approved Emergency First Aid/CPR B certification. Strong organizational and communication skills. Employment offer is conditional upon receipt of a Criminal Records Search Vulnerable Sector Screening that is acceptable to the City of Mississauga. PRIMARY FUNCTION Under the direction of the Aquatic Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing Aquafit classes suited to the present needs of the program participants that is fun, safe and technically sound and to meet the objectives and goals of the program. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the designated class in a professional manner and create a safe and enjoyable climate. Adhere to class format guidelines provided by the Aquatic Supervisor. Perform an Intensity check as per guidelines. Demonstrate appropriate public relations when dealing with all customers and share information about the community centre (as provided) to class participants. Report any concerns to appropriate supervisor(s). Attend a minimum of 3 related training workshop /seminar annually or 1 major conference. Read, understand and abide by all City and Divisional standards, Corporate Policies and Procedures, including the Human Resources Policies and respecting Employee Conduct, Health and Safety and Freedom of Information.
