Job Summary: Responsible for the training and supervision of a variety of participants of various ages and physical ability and developing a program that recognizes their capabilities and level of fitness within a community recreation environment. Motivates participants to achieve their fitness goals, while ensuring a positive and safe environment for all.
Duties may include but not limited to:
- Facilitates, leads and supervises cutting edge group Aqua fitness exercise classes and programming that meets the individual needs of participants
- Organizes and writes lesson plans and long term core plans to facilitate progressive learning.
- Utilizes innovative teaching strategies that will maximize participant success
- Provides a safe learning environment
- Participates in all mandatory staff training and meetings,
- Completes all related administrative duties
Qualifications: - High School Diploma is required. - Two to four years of previous experience in an Aquatics or Fitness Instructional capacity teaching/instructing both youth and adults is required
- CALA Aqua fitness Leadership Training and Certification and or Speedo Water Art Training and Certification - Experience as a Lifeguard and/or Swimming Instructors, Group Fitness Instructors, or Personal Trainer preferred - Current Standard First Aid
- AED - Current NLS and/or LSS Swim Instructor and/or Certified Fitness Instructor
- Good customer service and communication (written and verbal) skills to coach and mentor a diverse range of generally adult students enrolled in the Specialty Aquatics Programs. - Excellent Leadership skills
