Job Description:

The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (950 West. 41st Ave), is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Aquafit Instructor(s) to teach a variety of classes including shallow water, deep water and Aqua Zumba. Specific class times to be filled are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings 9

‐10am, as well as on call instructors for above classes as well as evening classes.

Required Qualifications:

BCRPA or CALA Aquafit certification

Current First Aid/CPR

Preferred Qualification:

‐

Third Age, and or other fitness certifications

‐

Lifeguard certifications

Experience: Relevant experience teaching Aquafit and or other group fitness classes. Able to teach a variety of classes, such as deep water, seniors, etc. is an asset.

Qualifications include High School Graduation supplemented by courses in lifesaving, lifeguarding, aquatics instruction and pool operation/maintenance. Sound related experience is also needed including supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The following licences and certifications are needed: valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License; Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate; Lifesaving Society Instructor Certificate; National Lifeguard Service Award and C.P.R. AQUAFIT INSTRUCTORS We are looking for enthusiastic instructors to teach a variety of Aquafit classes in all 3 of Delta’s aquatic facilities. Preferred candidates will possess current BCRPA or equivalent certification and teaching experience. For those who are close to completing their certification (ie. need to be ICED) we may be able to assist in arranging this for you. If you teach at least 70 hours in Delta over a two year period, Delta will pay your recertification. Delta also provides in-service credit hours that will go towards your recertification. Current First Aid and CPR are required. The Corporation of Delta provides a competitive salary based on experience.
